Four thieves arrested with stolen items

JAMMU, Mar 18: Bakshi Nagar and Banihal Police arrested four thieves and recovered stolen items from their possession.
As per police sources, on March 12 this year, a complaint was lodged at Police Station Bakshi Nagar by Principal GMC Jammu stating that on March 8, 2021 some unknown thieves have stolen two laptops from Microbiology Laboratory of GMC Jammu.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 45/2021 under Section 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a special team led by SHO Inspector Manjeet Singh and assisted by Incharge Police Post GMC ASI Hans Raj did strenuous efforts and finally with the help of technical assistance and CCTV camera footages of the area arrested two thieves, who were identified as Sonam Bhagat, son of Ajay Kumar Bhagat and Ashish Atri, son of late Narinder Kumar, both residents of Prem Nagar District Jammu.
On their disclosure, police team also recovered two stolen laptops.
Further investigation is going on to ascertain their involvement in other such cases.
Meanwhile, on March 7 this year, a complaint was lodged by Srikant Sr RPO Navyuga Engineering Company Limited Camp Nawgam with Police Station Banihal stating that during the intervening night of March 5 and 6, some unknown thief /thieves have stolen 11 shattering plates, 2 batching plant bucket flaps, 6 girders 8 feet and 1 girder 20 feet from South Portal site of new four lane tunnel.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 16/2021 under Section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Banihal and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Banihal rounded up several suspects and finally nabbed the thieves, who were identified as Nawaz Ahmad Bhat, son of Sanaullah Bhat and Shakeel Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohammad Yousaf Bhat, both residents of Gund Tethar Animal.
On their disclosure all the stolen property worth Rs 67031 was recovered.
Police team led by SHO Banihal Inspector Nayeem-Ul-Haq Mattoo made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Ashish Gupta, Additional SP Ramban Rajni Sharma and SSP Ramban Haseen Ur Rehman.
