Incomplete indoor stadiums in South Kashmir

Sports lovers both on and off the field aspire for better and multipurpose oriented sports stadiums but there is no fun in not providing the same fit to be used or keeping them in perpetual incomplete form. Such an approach of the concerned authorities really dampens the spirits of the players and others associated with sports. Shopian and Pulwama districts in Kashmir with such stadiums at a cost of Rs.4 crore each and the projects executed by Jammu and Kashmir Projects Corporation Company and started in the year 2017 continue to remain as on date in half complete forms .
Expected to be all completed by 2019 , delay by two years caused raises many questions but what purpose is served by such an approach and how promoting and encouraging sports can be expected and also ensuring the activities of the youth got channelized in healthy and constructive ways . Agreed , COVID-19 pandemic and the resultant phases of lockdown hampered the ongoing work on the project but initially both these stadiums should have been ready by 2019 itself. However, since a proper sports infrastructure is a prerequisite for promoting sports activities , we are hopeful that the left out work which is barely stated to be around 10 percent would soon be completed.
