JAMMU, Mar 20: Worst road conditions and poor infrastructure in Purkhoo Camp area near here depicts the sorry state of affairs with developmental activities.
This was said by Apni Party provincial president of Women Wing, Namrta Sharma in a meeting of women in Purkhoo-Camp area.
“It is surprise to see such backwardness of this locality. No proper roads, roofs half damaged, many people still living in kacha houses, no drinking water supply and long unscheduled power cuts has made the lives of this locality worse,” said Namrta claiming that the department responsible to give homes under Government schemes to the poor people is doing nothing.
She also said that women of the area have to travel half a km to fetch drinking water as the locality does not have proper drinking water supply.
The Apni Party leader further said that roads, lanes and drains require immediate repair and construction in Purkhoo area.
“It seems that none of the Government departments has been tasked to take up development activities in this locality for years,” she claimed.
Bodh Raj Bhagat also spoke on the occasion where over two dozen women joined Apni Party and they included Anita Devi, Asha Devi, Parshotama Kumari, Pooja Chib, Vimla Kumari, Sunita Devi and others.
