PIB Jammu, FOB Udhampur organise webinar on ‘Poshan Pakhwada Activities’

UDHAMPUR, Mar 23: Press Information Bureau, Jammu in coordination with Field Outreach Bureau, Udhampur, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India organized a Webinar today on ‘Poshan Pakhwada Activities’ here.
The webinar focussed on the ‘Poshan Pakhwada’ activities being undertaken by the ICDS department and the progress made in the socio-behavioural changes and communication among the masses in the district related to antenatal care, optimal breastfeeding, complementary feeding, anaemia etc.
In her address, Neha Jalali, Deputy Director, PIB, ROB J&K congratulated the field workers of the ICDS Department for their overwhelming response in today’s webinar and for their dedication in the field towards implementation of various schemes and programmes under the umbrella Integrated Child Development Services Scheme.
During the webinar, Attar Chand, Programme Officer, ICDS, Udhampur gave an overview of the various activities being planned by the department under ‘Poshan Pakhwada’ in the district and said that the major impact of Poshan Abhiyan has been to achieve improvement in nutritional status of children, adolescent girls, pregnant women and lactating mothers in a time bound manner.
Sanjeev Sharma, Child Development Project Officer, Chenani who was also a key speaker in the webinar said that conducting such virtual webinars in the covid-19 times is the need of the hour for a good outreach and awareness about ‘Poshan Pakhwada’. He further said that the department is trying its best to use the modern technology for real-time monitoring of different aspects under ‘Poshan Abhiyan’ and its primary objective is to support the supplementary nutrition among the beneficiaries. Elaborating the role of ICDS department, he stressed that ICDS was launched with the aim to reduce the infant mortality rate and maternal mortality rate.
Besides officers of the district administration, students, supervisors and Anganwadi workers, Field Publicity Officer, Udhampur, Khurshid Yousuf, Field Exhibition Officer, Jammu, Aadil Shameem Andrabi and Field Publicity Officer, Anantnag, Shahid Mohammad Lone were also present in the webinar.
