JKTJAC deputation meets Secy Education, raises burning issues of teachers

JAMMU, Mar 24: A deputation of Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) led by its UT president Vinod Sharma met Administrative Secretary School Education B K Singh in his office chamber at Civil Secretariat Jammu and projected various burning issues of the teaching fraternity.
The issues projected by the deputation include transfer policy in favour of teachers appointed under ReT scheme as these teachers have been working in the same schools for last 20 years, inclusion of 5 years ReT period for seniority benefits as same was given vide Government Order Number 469 Dated 25-06-2014, removal of pay anomaly of teachers as teachers of J&K UT are placed in the pay grade of 2800 whereas teachers of other UTs are placed between grade pay of 4200 to 5000 .
The JKTJAC leaders also stressed for regularization of ReTs who have completed their 5 years ReT period, appointment of ZEOs in headless zones so that teachers may not suffer, conversion of left out RRETs to Teachers Grade II/III as some cases are withheld due to adverse CID reports on minor charges, DPC of teachers to masters and creation of posts of masters in upgraded middle schools so that salary issue of head teachers be resolved.
The Administrative Secretary gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured to resolve all the issues projected by the JKTJAC leadership in the phased manner.
Others part of the deputation were Sukhdev Singh Sumbria (UT chief coordinator), Rajesh Jamwal (provincial president), Anil Sharma and Prashant Sharma.
