2 non-locals held for kidnapping girl in Uri

SRINAGAR, Mar 26: Police today arrested two non-locals for allegedly trying to kidnap a girl from Uri town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A Police official said that a girl was lured on the pretext of providing her with a job by a non-local duo through a social networking site.
“After meeting them, the two accused tried to kidnap her, however after receiving information about it, the police were able to intercept them in main town Uri,” police said.
The accused have been identified as Hardev Singh son of Joginder Singh and Gurjant Singh son of Beera Singh, both residents of Gurdaspur Punjab.
In this regard, the police have registered an FIR Number 25/2021 under sections 366, 109 IPC at Police Station Uri and further investigation has been taken up.
Police have urged parents to restrain their children from unnecessary use of electronic gadgets, particularly mobile phones.
