Anti encroachment drive launched in Kathua, Hiranagar

KATHUA, Mar 26: On the direction of higher authorities, district level anti encroachment drive was launched in Kathua , Hiranagar areas. The drive in Kathua town was launched by Muncipal Council, Kathua in in collaboration with Kathua police.
Pressing a JCB and tractor in service, the anti encroachment drive was started from Mukherjee Chowk to DC Office and College road Kathua.
Numbers of encroachments, Rehris, street vendors were removed and huge quantity of material was seized. The president Muncipal Council, Kathua, Naresh Sharma strictly warned the encroachers against encroaching the footpaths and roads otherwise legal action would be taken against them.
He has also advised the vendors and Rehriwalas to set their establishments at vegetable market Jail road Kathua.
Another anti encroachment drive was launched at Sangi Morh, Hiranagar and operational team has removed numbers of Khokhas of the vegetables vendors who had encroached the road. The encroachers lodged protest and tried to disrupt the Government action. But police foiled the attempt. Later they staged a dharna demanding same action on influential people who have also encroached the roads and Government land. They alleged that the administration is making target only poor people.
