JAMMU, Mar 26: All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) president, R K Wangnoo today said that if Government of India had any rehabilitation policy in pipeline it must keep in mind that hapless community had suffered a lot in past and had remained always at the behest of radical forces who had never liked their presence in Kashmir.
Addressing a meeting of ASKPC here, he said to mitigate the miseries of Kashmiri migrants for ever it was the high time for the GoI to consider rehabilitation of Kashmir migrants in Kashmir in such a way so that they could never be uprooted in future.
Wangnoo suggested Government to rehabilitate Pandits in Kashmir at one place for which the ASKPC struggled since 1990 till now. He said that it was felt cluster rehabilitation in Kashmir would be again suicidal for the community because the clusters would be soft targets for Jihadis. So to rehabilitate more than seven lac KPs at one place in Kashmir would be landmark decision of the BJP Government and it would be written in Golden alphabets in the history of India.
Ravinder Raina vice-president demanded that present Government should give relaxation to migrants and need to enhance the last date of registration for registering as bonafide migrants for the purpose of issuance of domicile certificates as mentioned in the Government order No. 52- JK(DMRRR) of 2020. He asked Government to allow all KP families to register themselves as bonafide migrants of Kashmir who were forced to leave Kashmir by Jihads at different times since 1880 or before and asked Government to wave off all the present restriction imposed in Order 52.
He requested all KP organizations to come together and fight the cause of rehabilitation according to the interests of community.
Bharat Bushan Gosani, general secretary demanded that KPs be given 7 Assembly. He added that it was the moral duty of the organization to highlight the demands of Kashmiri Pandits in exile as they were facing tremendous hardships since 1990 as 31 years of migration passed still their genuine demands were unheard out of which cash assistance to relief holders need attention as in present times it was meager amount and needs increasing its sealing without any further delay.
Sanjay Pandita S K Raina, Suneel Bhat, R L Koul, Ravi Raina, Deepak Moza and Sanjay Bhat also addressed the meeting.
