Around 500 Ladakh bound passengers airlifted

SRINAGAR, Mar 26: Around 500 Ladakh bound passengers were airlifted today from Jammu and Srinagar.
31 passengers were airlifted from Kargil to Srinagar and 75 passengers from Srinagar to Kargil, in two sorties of AN-32 aircraft of Indian Air Force and three passengers were lifted from Kargil to Chandigarh.
208 passengers were airlifted from Srinagar to Leh and 183 passengers from Jammu to Leh, in two aircrafts of C-130 Hercules Aircraft. Moreover, one dead body and 11 attendants, including 2 infants were also airlifted from Jammu to Kargil in Pawan Hans Mi-172 Helicopter.
This was disclosed by Chief Coordinator Kargil Courier Service, Er Aamir Ali. He expressed his gratitude to the Indian Air Force, Airport Authority, CISF, CEC LAHDC Kargil, Divisional Commissioner Ladakh, DC Kargil and other associated organisations.
Subject to fair weather, two sorties each of C-130 aircraft have been planned between Srinagar-Leh and Jammu-Leh, on Saturday, besides regular AN-32 Kargil Courier Service.
