Drug peddler nabbed in Bandipora

SRINAGAR, Mar 26: Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Bandipora today said to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered psychotropic substance from his possession.
Based on specific information, a police party from Police Station Bandipora under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Bandipora established a checkpoint at Ajar Chowk Bandipora.
“During checking, one person identified as Mohammad Ramzan Sofi son of Abdul Khaliq Sofi resident of Kaloosa Bandipora was intercepted. On his personal checking, officers were able to recover 624 capsules/tablets of banned drugs from his possession,” police said.
Police said that he has been arrested and shifted to the police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, case FIR number 35/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in the Police Station Bandipora and investigation into the matter has been initiated.
