Highest +ve cases in Valley this year

Teacher, 3 students infected

SRINAGAR/JAMMU/ LEH, Mar 26; Kashmir valley today reported 169 positive cases of COVID-19, the highest this year, while one person died of virus in the Valley even as a teacher and three students were infected in Ramban district.
With fresh cases, the number of active positive cases in J&K has gone up to 1681 which was around 500 two weeks ago.
One person died of COVID-19 in Kashmir taking the death toll in J&K to 1984 including 1252 from Kashmir.
Those who tested positive include 98 from Srinagar, 33 Baramulla, 12 Budgam, 5 Pulwama, 2 Kupwara, 9 Anantnag, 3 Bandipora, 2 Ganderbal, 4 Kulgam and 1 from Shopian.
The number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached 76,827 including 74,306 recoveries and 1,252 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,681 including 1,269 from Kashmir division.
With 92 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 125,748, which is 97.16 percent of the total cases.
Meanwhile, 41 fresh cases were today reported in the Jammu region, 30 of them in Jammu district, four Udhampur, three Ramban, two Rajouri and one each in Kathua and Samba districts.
Thirteen persons recovered from the virus including 10 in Jammu district, two Kathua and one in Udhampur.
Jammu region now has 52586 Coronavirus cases. Of them, 412 are active positives while 51442 have recovered from the virus and there have been 732 casualties.
The fatalities include 379 in Jammu district followed by 64 Doda, 57 Udhampur, 55 Rajouri, 53 Kathua, 41 Samba, 24 Poonch, 22 Kishtwar, 21 Ramban and 16 in Reasi district.
Meanwhile, three students of Government Higher Secondary School Ramban have tested positive for the virus after which Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mussarat Islam has closed the school for 48 hours.
Earlier, a teacher of Government Higher Secondary School Tethar had tested positive for Coronavirus.
Meanwhile, six persons today tested positive for coronavirus in Leh district of the UT of ladakh.
The UT now has 105 active positive cases.
