RAJOURI, Mar 27: The police today arrested a fraudster for swapping ATM cards and cheating people in Rajouri area.
Reports said Police Station Rajouri received a complaint from one Kulsum Akhtar, resident of Gakhrote, stating that her ATM card was fraudulently replaced/ swapped by a person. Based on this, FIR No 143/2021 U/S 420 IPC was registered.
During investigation, the accused person was identified as one Faizan Ali, son of Shoket Ali, resident of Chandak, Poonch, at present Ward No. 2 Rajouri. He was arrested. Based on his disclosure, seven ATM cards and cash were recovered from his possession.
Investigation has revealed that the accused used to identify unsuspecting ATM users and would replace their cards while pretending to assist them.
