JDA employee arrested for killing beggar

JAMMU, Mar 27: Gandhi Nagar Police arrested employee of Jammu Development Authority (JDA) for killing a beggar near Bikram Chowk area.
As per police sources, a man (beggar) identified as Chote Lal was seriously injured after being beaten by stick by JDA employee identified as Ashok Kumar near Bikram Chowk area today morning.
On getting information, police team rushed to the spot and shifted the injured person to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu, where doctors declared him as brought dead.
After conducting autopsy, the body of the deceased was handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
A case under FIR Number 82/2021 under Section 302 IPC has been registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar against the JDA employee and hunt was launched to nab the accused.
On specific information, a team from Police Station Gandhi Nagar led by SHO Inspector Bharat Sharma and assisted by Incharge Police Post Nehru Market SI Rohit Gandhi immediately swung into action and arrested the JDA employee.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
