JAMMU, Mar 27: Sanjay Kumar Baru, Councillor, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) assured the residents from Wazir Lane, Ward Number 41 of Talab Tillo area for the early solution of water crisis in their locality.
Local inhabitants called Sanjay Kumar Baru and told that the water supply crisis in the Wazir Lane and adjoining areas occurs time and again.
Taking note of the problem, Baru said that the issue will be resolved once for all with the proper mechanism. He said that the Jal Shakti Department is running a campaign to ensure water supply to every household in phased manner in a stipulated span of time.
Sanjay Kumar Baru said that main reason for the irregular supply is the lack of coordination between various departments, but he said that with the 74th amendment there will be improved coordination in between these departments as the domain of some of these is being given under the Jammu Municipal Corporation now onwards.
He assured that soon the issue will be resolved to the satisfaction of the local residents by constructing one additional overhead tank.
Earlier, the local residents of Wazir Lane gathered near the tubewell to show their resentment on the issue, but after being pacified by the local Councillor Sanjay Kumar Baru, they dispersed peacefully.
On the occasion, Sanjay Kumar Baru also inspected the nallahs of Durga Nagar and Talab Tillo for the requisite desilting work.
