Thomas Mathew becomes LIC Chairman

MUMBAI, June 1:  The government has appointed Thomas Mathew as interim chairman of Life Insurance Corporation of India today.
The chairman’s post fell vacant after incumbent D K Mehrotra retired on Friday. S K Roy assumed charge as Managing Director of LIC.
Thomas Mathew T., has 35 years of experience in Life Insurance industry in India. After acquiring grass root operational experience in Branch and Divisional level, Mr. Mathew moved to leadership positions as Senior Divisional manager, Zonal Manager and Executive Director.
He acquired business and people acumen through several years of
strategizing and innovating in the entire spectrum of Life Insurance in a competitive market. He was then elevated to the position of Managing Director of the Corporation, an official statement said.
