All political parties condemn killing of Sopore Councilor, his PSO

SRINAGAR/JAMMU, Mar 29: All the political parties have strongly condemned the killing of Municipal Councilor Sopore Reyaz Ahmed and his PSO Shafi Ahmad, who were gunned down by militants outside the Municipal Office Sopore.
National Conference President and Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah, and NC Vice President Omar Abdullah, while condemning the attack in unequivocal terms, said brutality has no place in any emancipated society. The duo termed the incident unfortunate and urged the police to investigate the case and nab the culprits behind the attack. The duo also expressed unison with the bereaved families and prayed for fortitude to them and peace for the deceased.
NC General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, MP Muhammad Akbar Lone, District President Baramulla Javed Dar, Spokesperson Imran Nabi have also condemned the incident and expressed condolences with the families of the bereaved.
J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) condemned the Sopore militant attack and said that such mindless and shameful acts are not acceptable. The party also urged the government to take immediate effective measures to contain such inhuman and cowardice incidents.
CPI (M) leader Mohd Yusuf Tarigami termed the killings as inhuman and barbaric. He said that violence in any form is condemnable and there is need to put an immediate end to these civilian killings.
Apni Party Provincial President Kashmir, Mohammad Ashraf Mir said that such violent incidents add to the miseries and sufferings of people and cannot be condoned by any civilized society in the world.
BJP national general secretary and Incharge J&K, Tarun Chugh said that the militant attack was a vicious game plan to disrupt development process at a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi was trying to bring about development and growth in J&K.
J&K BJP president Ravinder Raina, while strongly condemning the attack, said that militants have crossed their limits and their acts to murder the humanity will not go unpunished.
J&K BJP organizing secretary Ashok Koul termed the killings as barbaric and said that such attack are aimed to disturb peace in the region.
