JAMMU, Mar 30: One person was killed while another got injured due to electrocution in Akhnoor area of city outskirts.
According to the reports, while changing power transmission line in Sungal area of Akhnoor, two casual labourers of the Power Development Department namely Bachchan Lal son of Shanker Das and Rakesh Kumar son of Manga Ram, both residents of Aaijal Malal, received severe electric current.
Both the injured were rushed to Sub District Hospital, Akhnoor, where Bachchan Lal was declared as brought dead by the doctors while Rakesh was responding to the treatment when last reports came in. The body of the deceased was sent for postmortem.
In this connection, Akhnoor police had taken cognizance.
