RAMBAN, June 1: AFCON driver was among two held for allegedly kidnapping a minor girl from Bowli Bazaar near here.
Police spokesman said that, a 12-year-old girl Suman (name changed) was returning home, when three persons including two AFCON drivers allegedly kidnapped her from Bowli bazaar in an auto rickshaw bearing registration number JK19-0278.
When the girl raised alarm, the accused fled from the spot leaving behind her, he said, adding that two persons namely Sajad Ahmed Mir, son of Sultan Mir (AFCON driver) and Puran Singh, son of Kartar Singh, both residents of Sangaldhan, Gool were arrested.
The manhunt has been launched to arrest the third accused also an AFCON driver, who has been identified as Krishan Singh, son of Mansa Ram of Sangaldhan.
The girl has been restored to family members after completion of legal formalities.
A case under FIR number 88/13 under Sections 363, 354, 109 RPC stands registered at police station Ramban and further investigation into the case is going on.
Police party led by SHO Ravinder Singh Parihar made the arrest under the direct supervision of Anil Mangotra, SP Ramban and Parbeet Singh Parihar, DySP headquarters.
