JAMMU, June 1: Sammoh Theatre today organized a musical programme “Swar Tarange” at KL Saigal Hall, in which children and young artists of the State participated.
On the occasion, Raman Bhalla, Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture was the chief guest, while Pritpal Singh, Renowned Urdu poet of the State, Savita Bakshi, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages were the special guests.
During the programme, young artists gave their scintillating performances included Sarasvati Vandna, ghazals, bhajan and classical and Sufi items, which were highly appreciated by the audience with thundering applauses.
Bhalla while addressing the gathering said that children as well as young artists of the State have already shined in the national level competition.
Minister advised the participants for same kind of dedication, devotion and sincerity towards this art besides their study.
The artists who performed were Priya, Nisha, Karan, Aryan, Azad Kumar, Deeksha Nargotra, Sunny Kumar, Suraj Sharma.
Later, Minister flanked by other dignitaries awarded the winners of the programme.
The programme was conducted by Dharmesh Nargotra, singer of the State.
Earlier, Dr Sudhir Mahajan, presented the welcome address.
The programme was presented by Saptak Sangeet Niketan.
The function was attended by large members of civil society, music fraternity, children and their parents.
