UDHAMPUR, June 1: Continuing its drive against bovine smuggling, the Police today rescued 12 animals and arrested two inter-district smugglers at Kud.
Reports said that acting on specific information, a Police party from Kud Police Station led by SHO Rakesh Bamba, laid a naka on National Highway near Kud town and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AW-3519, which was on its way towards Kashmir. The truck was carrying 12 bovine animals, which were rescued by Police. The bovine smugglers, identified as Kala Khan of Kansi Pata Reasi and Kalu of Miran Sahib, R S Pura were arrested on the spot while the truck was also seized by police.
