RAMBAN, Apr 1: Batote Police arrested two thieves and recovered stolen fuel and battery from their possession.
As per police sources, on February 26 this year, a written complaint was lodged at Police Station Batote by a man namely Rajinder Singh, son of Lakshman Singh of Barthal Tehsil Batote stating that some unknown persons had stolen 150 litres of fuel (diesel) and one battery from his truck bearing registration number JK06-0131, which was parked on the road side near his home at Barthal.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 13/2021 U/S 379 was registered at Police Station Batote and investigation started.
After making hectic and sustained efforts, a team from Police Station Batote led by SHO Inspector Ranjeet Rao arrested the thieves and recovered stolen fuel and battery from their possession.
The arrested persons were identified as Mohammad Sartaj and Mohammad Saleem, both residents of Tehsil Gandoh District Doda.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
