Mir heads Islamic Welfare Organisation

RAJOURI, Apr 4: A first of its kind organisation with the nomenclature of “Islamic Welfare Organisation” has been constituted in Rajouri by enlightened and emancipated people from different backgrounds and professions from length and breadth across the district.
The organisation has come up with a vision and mission for a positive and constructive change in the area with a primary focus of uplifting the destitutes, the underprivileged, the weaker, the downtrodden irrespective of caste, creed, colour, region, language and religion.
Shafqat Mir a renowned socio-political figure of Pir Panjal has been unanimously nominated as president of the organisation. He was entrusted this responsibility amidst a massive gathering today at Press Club of Rajouri.
While speaking on the occasion, Mir stressed upon the need to work selflessly for the suffering humanity. He expressed the concern of the organisation regarding socio- economic crisis the humanity is faced with and also briefed about the road map for making a substantial contribution in this area. He stressed upon the elders and the youth to come forward to extend a helping hand to the needy, poor, orphans, widows and weaker sections of society from both rural and urban areas and move with a spirit of serving the humanity selflessly.
The prominent dignitaries who attended the programme and supported this noble cause included DDC Chairman Naseem Liaqat (Adv), DDC Member Sain Abdul Rashid, DDC Member Abdul Qayoom Mir, Ex- MLA Qamar Hussain, President Municipal Committee Mohd Arif Jatt, Darbar Hussain BDC Member, Shafi Dar, Aslam Ganai, Former Judge Muzaffar Iqbal Khan, former Auqaf Administrator Abdul Qayoom Dar, Haji Mohd Maqbool Dar, Maulana Farooq Naqshbandi, Maulana Hanif Raza, Hafiz Mohd Alyas, Maulana Amir Shamsi, Tazeem Dar, Iftikhar Dar, Iftikhar Ahmed, Ishtiaq Bhat, Iqbal Bhat, Farooq Khan, Asif Bhat, Mushtaq Ahmed, Nisar Manhas and other scores of youth from different areas participated.
