Manjit urges Govt to waive off electricity, water bills

JAMMU, Apr 5: Former Minister and Apni Party Provincial president Manjit Singh today expressed his concern over unscheduled power curtailments and poor drinking water supply in Rajpur Kuhlar areas of Samba district and urged the Government to waive off electricity and water bills of the public.
It was stated during a public meeting which was organized at village Rajpur Kuhlar in which people highlighted their issues.
During the meeting, they (people) raised various issues regarding poor road connectivity and lack of cleanliness in the villages, especially in the locality belonging to schedule caste community.
On hearing their issues, the former minister assured them that he would raise their issues before the administration for early redressal.
He said that the people are getting huge electricity and water bills and they are not in position to pay it. “The people have been facing worse period of COVID1-19 since last year and their financial condition is still not improved,” said Singh.
“People in large numbers have lost their jobs and some have suffered financial losses in their small scale businesses,” he said and urged the Government and department concerned not to charge electricity and water bills from the public.
