UDHAMPUR, Apr 5: A young man committed suicide by hanging himself from ceiling fan hook in his house at village Laddha Udhampur.
The deceased was identified as Bittu Ram (32), son of Sad Ram of village Laddha in Chenani Tehsil, whose body was found hanging from the fan hook under mysterious circumstances.
This was an apparent case of suicide but cause of provocation behind the extreme step could not be ascertained, Police said.
The family member saw the man hanging and immediately called the Police Station Chenani. On being informed, Police shifted the dead body to District Hospital Udhampur for the postmortem and registered a case under section 174 CrPC for further investigation.
