Goldsmith’s shop gutted in Nowshera, 4 sustain injuries

RAJOURI, Apr 5: Four people sustained burn injuries after a shop of goldsmith caught fire at Nowshera town today.
Official sources said that Verma Goldsmith Shop, located in Nowshera market caught fire during the day today. Four persons sustained burn injuries in the incident. The injured were removed to Sub District Hospital, Nowshera for treatment. After first aid, three of them were referred to Govt Medical College, Jammu.
Giving detail, Shyam Murari, owner of Verma Goldsmith Nowshera, said that he opened shop around 9-30 am today as routine and started work. After some time, suddenly the gas from the pipe of cylinder leaked. The fire flames erupted and it engulfed large area in no time. Four persons including son of the jeweler, who were present in the shop, received burn injuries.
He said with the help of the nearby shopkeepers, the fire was extinguished before the Fire tender reached the spot.
The injured in the shop were rushed to SDH, Nowshera. They were identified as Rahul Verma, son Shyam Murari Verma, Ravindra Singh, son Jaswant Singh, both residents of Nowshera and Pankaj Chaudhary, son Kesar Lal, resident of Bhajanova and Gulshan Kumar, son Vallayati Lal, resident of Hanjana, Tehsil Nowshera.
Gulshan Kumar is being treated at Sub District Hospital, Nowshera while the other three were referred to the Medical College Jammu after first- aid. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
