Srinagar, Apr 7: Residents of district Baramulla in north Kashmir today alleged that the ARTO Baramulla’s office is resorting to undue delay in various works due to which they are suffering.
A delegation told Excelsior that be it the re-registration of the vehicles, issuance of the licences or the issuance of various permits, the ARTO’s office is delaying each and every process.
“I had applied for the re-registration 6 days ago. While the RTO has said that the process will be completed in just 15 days, the ground reality is quite different,” a delegation member said.
He also said that the officers at the ARTO’s office do not guide people who reach there for want of services. “One cleric will tell you to go there, another will tell you something else, all in all, the works there take more than enough time,” he added.
The delegation members alleged that there are a number of licences that were to be issued to the concerned applicants. “Those just need an approval, but it’s not happening,” they said.
When contacted, ARTO Baramulla Mubashir Jan, told Excelsior that his office has carried out record work and that with everything being online, they clear all the works in time.
“There might be few works, or process, that are lying pending, and that have been happening due to some technical issues, rest everything is done in time,” he said.
