Senior citizens delegation calls on SSP, discusses demands

KISHTWAR, Apr 9: A delegation of Senior Citizens Council, district Kishtwar led by its chairman, Khurshid Ahmed Dev and president, Roshan Lal Parihar called on SSP Kishtwar , Shafqat Hussian here, today and discussed various issues of the people with him.
The delegation demanded that stunt by young bikers and honking of deafening horns should be checked and the licenses of such bikers or four wheeler drivers be cancelled. It expressed concern over growing drug addiction among youth especially those who after completing their degrees are sitting idle in desperation as without jobs they feel isolated and so fall a prey to drugs.
The increasing drug menace has become a problem in the society as parents, friends and relatives of these youth are perturbed totally. The delegation demanded that drug peddlers be put behind the bars to save the future of young generation.
The delegation also demanded that the senior Citizens Council should not be harassed by the police whenever visiting the Police office. The identity of beggars be ascertained who have entered in large numbers in the Kishtwar town.
The delegation also discussed other issues like scarcity of water, plugging of leakages of water supply and proper sanitation in the town.
The other members of the delegation included Bashir Ahmed Mugal, Mohammed Iqbal Sheikh, Bansi Lal Parihar, Badri Nath Shan, Des Raj Shan, Nazir Ahmed Sheikh, Mohammed Hanif Sheikh , Krishan Lal Sen, Jagdish Raj Bhagat and Ghulam Qadir Malik.
