Thief arrested for stealing mobile phones, cash from SMGS Hospital

JAMMU, Apr 9: City Police arrested a thief within 24 hours for stealing mobile phones and cash from a ward of Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh (SMGS) Hospital here.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by Sukhdev Singh, son of Vir Singh of Sunderbani district Rajouri with Police Station City stating that some unknown thieves have decamped with two mobile phones and Rs 2950 cash from Ward Number 15 of SMGS Hospital Jammu, during last night when his wife was undergoing treatment.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 15/2021 under Section 380 IPC has been registered at Police Station City and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station City led by SHO Inspector Joginder Singh Chib after putting in hectic efforts arrested the thief.
The arrested person was identified as Jyoti Parkash, son of late Rattan Lal of Ustad Mohalla district Jammu.
On his disclosure, 2 stolen mobile phones and Rs 2950 cash were recovered. However, 11 unclaimed mobile phones were also recovered and seized in this case accordingly.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
