RAMBAN, Apr 9: Around half dozen police cops including Station House Officer (SHO) were injured in stone pelting by alleged drug peddlers in Maitra area late tonight.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Ramban led by SHO reached Maitra to raid the house of a drug peddler namely Sakina and her relatives involved in drugs peddling.
In the meantime, the relatives of drug peddler retaliated and pelted stones on police party leading to minor injury to SHO Ramban and 6 to 7 police personnel.
However, police reinforcement was despatched and situation was brought under control.
Drug peddler Sakina and her relatives were apprehended and shifted to Police Station Ramban.
Senior Police officers including SSP Ramban PD Nitya along with Additional SP Ramban Rajni Sharma also reached the Police Station Ramban.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Ramban against the arrested persons and investigation started.
