Plus 2 Forum defers annual Lecturers Day celebrations

JAMMU, Apr 10: In view of Covid restrictions, All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers Forum has deferred its annual Lecturers Day celebrations, which were scheduled to be held tomorrow.
This was informed by the Forum general secretary, R S Slathia, here today after an emergency meeting wherein decision in this regard was taken.
“The executive body of the Forum has decided to postpone its annual day function as Deputy Commissioner Jammu has imposed Section 144 of CrPC and imposed restrictions under Epidemic Disease Act 1997 and disaster Management Act 2005,” he said while addressing a press conference along with the Forum district president Pardeep Singh.
On the occasion, the Forum leaders also highlighted some long pending demands of the cadre and sought intervention of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha for extending them benefit of Assured Career Progression (ACP), immediate regularization of all In-charge officers in the School Education Department.
The Forum also demanded restoration of non-vacational status in favour of Plus-2 Principals, filing up of vacant posts of Principals, Lecturers, CEOs and others, immediate adjustment of newly promoted Incharge Lecturers and sanction of Charge Allowance in their favour.
The Forum leaders hoped that their pending issues would be soon resolved by Commissioner Secretary School Education Department, B K Singh, who has already released the list of 1700 Senior Lecturers.
Leaders of the Plus 2 Lecturers Forum also demanded promotion of more Lecturers as Senior Lecturers, removal of pay anomaly of Physical education Lecturers and their regularization, release of 40 percent college quota in favour of Plus 2 cadre and induction quota into KAS from School Education Department.
