People protest against administration, several detained

JAMMU, Apr 10: People held protest against administration for starting the construction work of Ring Road without giving compensation.
As per police sources, a large number of people assembled at Chak Avtara village and staged protest against the administration.
The protestors alleged that they have not been given compensation of their land, which comes under the construction of Ring Road.
Officials from the administration and Police Department reached the spot and tried to pacify the protestors but failed.
Police detained some of the protestors, which irked the other protestors including Sarpanch and Panch, who then blocked the Bari Brahmana road. The detainees were later released.
Later, SDM Bishnah took a delegation of protesting people to the office of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jammu, where according to police sources, the matter was resolved.
Directions were passed from Deputy Commissioner Office Jammu to Tehsildar Bishnah to produce the record of the people, whose compensation cases are pending.
