PULWAMA, June 4: An anti-Tobacco Squad today caught 12 persons while smoking at public places and imposed a fine of Rs 1400 each from them.
A team lead by Inderjeet Singh, Food Safety Officer, Pampore and Firdous Ahmed Food Safety Officer, Pulwama, inspected various offices in Pulwama district including offices of Deputy Commissioner, Executive Engineer R&B, SIDCO, town market and District Hospital.
Twelve persons were caught smoking at public places in violation of Section 4 of Anti-Tobacco Act, which prohibits smoking in any public place.
