KATHUA, May 30: The police has registered a case against village Sarpanch for allegedly committing rape on a young woman at village Lakhri in tehsil Billawar.
A police official said that following court directions, Billawar police registered a case FIR No. 74/2012, against Sarpanch Gopal Dass of Lakhri. In the complaint, it has been alleged by one Rita Devi, wife of Bodh Raj of the same village that Sarpanch committed rape on her two days back. The police sent the woman for medical examination and started investigation. The police said accused was evading arrest.
