SRINAGAR, June 5: Minister for Labour, Employment and Planning Ajay Sadhotra today asked functionaries of Labour Department to extend all basic facilities to the labour class particularly those registered with the department. He said that health care of the labourers is the priority of Government and several dispensaries have been opened for providing medicare to the labourers.
The Minister was interacting with officers of Labour Department after inspecting ESI Dispensaries of the Valley. Labour Commissioner, Shahid Inayatullah accompanied the Minister.
The Minister enquired about the medicare facilities being extended to the labourers suffering from various ailments. He interacted with doctors, para-medics and other staff members. The Minister inspected the medical stores on the occasion.
Reiterating Government’s resolve to solve the problems confronting labour class, Mr. Sadhotra assured that the genuine problems confronting them will be solved in a phased manner.
Giving details of the achievements registered during last four years by the present Government, Mr. Sadhotra said that several landmark steps were initiated in education, health, power, drinking water, and above all for the welfare of labourers and the Government is continuing its efforts to provide succor to poor and needy through several schemes aimed at improving lot of the labour class.
