RAMBAN, Apr 17: Banihal Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered 14 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Station Banihal laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number PB13BB-7867, which was on its way from Srinagar to Jammu.
During checking, police team recovered 14 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested one person, who was identified as Jasbir Singh, son of Babu Singh of Mandian Tehsil Malerkotla District Sangroor Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 59/2021 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Banihal and investigation set into motion.
