Rural infra determines nation’s development: Col Singh

BASOHLI, Apr 18: Reiterating PM Modi’s commitment to develop rural areas by equipping them with ultra-modern infrastructure, District Development Council (DDC) Chairperson Kathua, Col (Retd) Mahan Singh said, rural infrastructure is the cornerstone of overall development of the nation.
During an interaction with the people at Hutt Mashka and Gagrode in Basohli and Mara Patti in Mahanpur, the DDC Chairperson claimed that under the Modi government development in rural sector has received massive impetus which has resulted in bridging the gap between rural and urban life.
People of the area submitted a memorandum of demands to the DDC Chairman and after listening to their grievances, he assured to take up blacktopping of road from village Maska to village Khajura and extension of another Shara Maska road upto Hutt village under PMGSY as sought by them in the memorandum.
Moreover, the DDC Chairman also assured to repair all the defunct hand pumps in the area very soon so that people of the area do not face any water problem in the upcoming summer season.
Col Singh also apprised the people about various welfare schemes launched by the government for their welfare and asked them to avail benefits of such schemes.
