JAMMU, Apr 18: An army jawan has been arrested in rape case by Arnia Police.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Station Arnia led by SHO Inspector Harjeet Singh under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan arrested an army jawan, who was wanted in a rape case.
The accused has been identified as Ranjeet Singh, Mohinder Lal, a resident of RS Pura. He had raped a minor girl, who later committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance.
A case under FIR Number 27/2020 under Section 376 and 305 IPC and 3/4 Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act stands registered against the army jawan at Police Station Arnia and further investigation is going on.
