SAMBA, June 6: A special checking drive was ordered by SSP Samba Israr Khan in the district to seize all such tractors and trolleys plying without registration numbers, number plates and in contravention of their permits.
Besides the violators of traffic who ply two wheelers without helmets, carry two pillion riders and those plying their vehicles without registration numbers have also been booked.
According to a police spokesman there are number of instances in the district where tractor trolleys and other vehicles plying without number plates met fatal accidents and later could not be traced. Moreover, they create impediments in movement of vehicular traffic on National Highway hence the step was taken by Samba Police to seize all such vehicles running without number plate and registration.
