Online Punjabi learning course begins at GDC Bishnah

BISHNAH, Apr 20: Govt Degree College Bishnah inaugurated the 12-week online certificate course “Reading and Writing Punjabi in Gurmukhi Script”.
In the inaugural session, Dr Anuradha Pandoh, Principal GDC Bishnah highlighted the importance of such online courses, particularly during the time of lockdown and social distancing.
Keynote speaker, Prof Joga Singh Virk (Retd) threw light on the various cultural, political and social issues pertaining to the regional languages of India.
Dr Baljeet Kour, HoD, PG Department of Punjabi, emphasized the relevance of learning Punjabi in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The inaugural session was coordinated by Dr Sunil Kumar and the programme was organised by Dr Randheer Kour, Department of Punjabi GDC Bishnah, who is also the faculty of this online course.
The inaugural session was followed by the one hour class at 8 PM for which hundred participants had already been registered. This week-long course will conclude on July 9, 2021 followed by an online exam. After the successful completion of this course, the participants will be given an e-certificate.
