REASI, June 6: District Development Commissioner, Reasi, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary along with Vice-Chairman of Shiv Khori Shrine Board Rajinder Singh today convened a meeting of all officers of line departments at Ransoo where arrangements were reviewed and important decisions related to amenities were taken.
DDC directed Tourism Department to complete Bus Stand and Taxi Stand by the end of year. It was decided that a link road will be constructed between new bus stand and main town. Proposal for widening to road across Ransoo market was also discussed which is being initiated shortly.
Dr Shahid assured providing land for 5 wayside amenities between Katra and Shiv Khori to be constructed by Tourism Department. BDO Pouni was directed to outsource the cleaning and sanitation of Ransoo town through open tenders within a month and ensure proper hygiene and face-lifting of this important town.
Stressing on time-bound completion of works the DDC directed XEn PHE for installation of 10 Public Connections on the track and also 3 water tanks. XEn PDD and XEn PWD were directed to complete pending works. XEn PWD informed that Helipad will be ready before December, accordingly it is expected that Cable Car will be in position by mid 2014.
Meanwhile, taking a serious note of massive use of polythene Police and Revenue Officials were directed to seize all the polythene, display board indicating fine and take immediate legal action against violaters. It was directed that no vendor will charge more than MRP of articles as some pilgrims informed DDC about over charging. BSNL Authorities were directed for providing better connectivity. One SRTC Bus will also be started from Jammu to Ransoo, it was informed.
