Langeh condemns Govt for adopting double standard

JAMMU, June 6:  State President, Bahujan Samaj Party, Tulsi Das Langeh today condemned Government for adopting double standard while treating acid attack victims.
Addressing a workers’ meet at Party’s State Headquarter here, Langeh expressed serious concern over the discriminating attitude of the Government in treating acid attack victims of Jammu and Srinagar.
He quoted that 19-years old dalit girl named Raman Lata of village Banotra of RS Pura, who suffered acid attack on May 26 2012, was given only a sum of Rs 50,000 for advanced treatment whereas when similar incident took place in Srinagar on Jan 2, 2013, the victim was not only airlifted to New Delhi for treatment, she was provided a Government job in the State School Education Department on compassionate ground and Rs 8 lakh for her advance treatment.
