JAMMU, June 7: An Army jawan allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in the staff quarters at Nagrota.
Police spokesman said that, an Army jawan identified as Santosh Singh Yadav, hailing from Madhya Pradesh and posted with Army Supply Corps was found hanging in his residential quarter at Nagrota.
Finding him hanging, family members informed the senior Army officials and police, who on getting information rushed to the spot and shifted the jawan to hospital, where doctors pronounced him as brought dead.
The body has been handed over to family members for last rites after completing legal formalities.
Police has started investigation to ascertain the reason behind such extreme step.
