JAMMU, June 7:  National Panthers Party chairman and MLA Ramnagar, Harshdev Singh has alleged that after the discrimination with the general public in every respect, now State Government is causing discrimination with the martyrs from Jammu region.
Addressing a press conference here today, the NPP Legislator said that two policemen one hailing from Kathua and another from Chenani area of Jammu region were killed in Handwara area of Kashmir by militants while on duty on March 2 when Assembly was in session. There was huge hue and cry over the matter and the issue was also forcefully raised by NPP and some others. The Government assured to provide compensation/ job to the relatives but unfortunately their family members are still waiting for any relief from Government.
Mr Singh said  during that period two CRPF men from Haryana were killed in Fidayeen attack at Srinagar. Harayana Government provided Rs 25 lakh  each besides jobs to their family members but J&K  Government has discriminated with the martyrs too, from Jammu region, which is unfortunate. The region is already facing discrimination in jobs, development, tourism infrastructure, power distribution etc but this new kind of   discrimination is being witnessed now.  He demanded that families of both Constables Santosh Singh from Kathua and Azad Chand from Chenani be provided compensation and jobs otherwise, NPP would launch fresh agitation.
The NPP Legislator also demanded relief for Chamail Singh who died in Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore on the pattern of Sarabjeet Singh of Punjab.  He said Punjab Government provided Rs 1 crore and Centre Rs 25 lakh to the family of Sarabjeet but J&K has maintained silence.  He also condemned the role of Jammu Ministers for their failure to protect the interests of Jammu region.
Describing the arrest SI of J&K Police Shiv Kumar from Doda for alleged militant links as well planned plot and deep rooted conspiracy, the NPP leader said that some people in the Administration and the Government having soft corner for  militant ‘sympathizers’,  tried to implicate him in the case  and malign his reputation. He said the man who played crucial role in crushing militancy in Chenab region fell victim to some insiders and it would have adverse repercussion.
