JAMMU, May 30: Domana police has registered a `hit and run’ case against a youth who hit an elderly scootrist on Bantalab- Barnai road with his car and sped away from the spot today.
70-year-old Ishwar Dass, resident of D-80, Upper Shiv Nagar, Jammu was on way to his son’s residence in Barnai area on his scooter No. JK02M/2610 at around 12.20 pm. A speeding white Maruti 800 car No. JK-02../ 6322, driven by apparently a minor boy and coming from Bantalab side, hit the elderly man and thrown him away on the road side along with scooter. The residents ran towards the accident victim and removed him to nearby dispensary. The victim is father of Sub-Inspector Satinder Pal.
The public raised alarm but the car escaped towards Akhnoor road. The people said another boy was sitting with driver in the car. A case has been registered by Domana police in this connection.
