IRP Follower booked for duping youth by assuring Govt jobs

UDHAMPUR, June 7: Police have booked a Follower of IRP for duping unemployed educated youth and their parents by collecting money from them on the false assurance of providing jobs in Forest and Police Department.
The cheat, identified as Babu Singh of Tada Jajjar Kotli, was posing himself as personal security officer (PSO) of a high profile senior police officer.  He is reportedly absenting himself un-authorizedly since January 2013 from 1R 3rd BN and his whereabouts could not be traced even after hectic efforts made by Police parties launched to arrest him.
According to the FIR, accused Babu Singh had entered the Jangalgali and adjoining areas several times posing himself as PSO of a well known senior police officer with whom he was actually attached as follower. He asked the youth and their parents to pay Rs 2 lakh per head for getting permanent jobs in Forest and Police Department. According to the victim, he also organized fake measurement somewhere in Jammu city to befool them.
A huge amount to the tune of Rs 84 lakh (approximately) from 42 youth and their parents was collected by the said cheat. However neither jobs were provided nor money was returned. Instead he started threatening the victims of dire consequences if they disclosed the matter to any body.
According to Police, the accused has also cheated and collected money from the people of Billawar and other areas of the State adopting similar modus operandi.
He was booked by police following directions of Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Udhampur on the application filed by one Nasib Singh son of Tarlok Singh of Kund Jangalgali and others.
Police have registered a case FIR No.84/2013 U/S 420 RPC, 5(2) PCA in Police Station Rehmbal against the accused. The case is being investigated under the supervision of SP Benam Tosh.
