JTC, SKF reiterate relief enhancement demand

JAMMU, Apr 25: A meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) was held in Jagti township under the leadership of its president Shadi Lal Pandita today.
Addressing the members Pandita reiterated the demand regarding increasing the monthly cash relief of migrant relief holders from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 immediately as they are not able to make their both ends meet when prices are sky rocketing day by day.
He said the relief holders are given a small amount of money which is making it difficult for them to survive. Pandita said the Government had given the remaining 1997 package post for migrant unemployed youth for Government jobs for which examinations were also be held but the unemployed youth of the families who have not been given any Government job till date have been ignored again. He urged the Government that jobs should be given to those families which have no serving Government employee.
He said the protest sit-in which lasted for 200 consecutive days has not ended but has postponed because of Corona Virus. Pandita warned that if the Government does not meet the demands, the JTC and SKF will be forced to protest again.
