KATHUA, Apr 26: District police Kathua today recovered illicit liquor in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Kathua and arrested the accused.
A joint team of Anti Drug Unit Kathua and team of PS Kathua conducted a
raid in its jurisdictional area near Chack Drab Khan and apprehended one
suspect namely Bablu Kumar alias Babu son of Kasturi Lal of Chack Drab Khan Tehsil and district Kathua.
On physical checking, approximately 40 liters’ of illicit liquor was
recovered from his illegal possession. Meanwhile accused was arrested
along with illicit liquor seized on spot.
On this, instant case vide FIR No. 195/2021 u/s 48 (E) Excise Act was
registered in the Kathua Police Station and further investigation has been
initiated.
The raid was conducted under the directives of SSP Kathua, R C Kotwal and supervision of DySP Bhisham Dubey.
Meanwhile, a Police team of PS Kathua headed by ASI Kuldeep Singh during patrolling and Naka Checking duty at Barrian Pattan area apprehended a person namely Lovepreet Singh son of Jagraj Singh of Lauke Kalan tehsil Zera, district, Ferozpur Punjab was roaming near Nikki Nehar Barrian Pattan Kathua.
During his frisking Police recovered 10 gram Heroin like substance from his possession. Police arrested the person and seized the contraband substance on the spot.
A case FIR NO. 202/2021 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act registered has been registered at PS Kathua and further investigation is going on.
