Freight rates decline on excess position of trucks

NEW DELHI, June 8:  Freight rates for 10-tonne load declined by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today on reduced cargo movements against heavy position of trucks.
Transporters said less cargo movements and huge availability of trucks mainly pulled down freight rates.
Capital to Patna, Mumbai and Pune rates moved down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 25,000, Rs 26,000 and Rs 28,000, respectively.
Rates to Baroda, Chennai and Gwalior also went down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 23,000, Rs 64,000 and Rs 10,000, respectively.
