JAMMU, Apr 28: Former Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader, Kavinder Gupta while alerting the people against the alarming situation having arisen due to intense second wave of COVID-19 pandemic, has impressed upon them not to take this deadly virus lightly and instead remain extra cautious.
Chairing a meeting of Municipal Corporators here, today, the former Deputy Chief Minister said that in the existing situation the only weapons to defeat the pandemic include strict adherence to COVID SOPs issued by the Government and its agencies besides getting oneself vaccinated at the earliest.
It is pertinent to mention here that today’s meeting of Corporators was convened to discuss the serious situation due to increasing COVID-19 cases day by day.
During the meeting Kavinder Gupta directed all the Corporators to display utmost coordination with district administration and both synchronize their efforts in implementing much needed measures on ground to defeat the virus. He stressed upon them to pay special attention towards sanitation drives urging them to conduct sanitation drives on regular basis. He said that besides helping in making Jammu City Clean it will definitely be helpful in defeating the corona virus onslaught.
Kavinder Gupta appealed to the people to follow all the precautions sacredly be it social distancing, proper use of face masks and sanitizers as these would ensure the arrest of the spread of deadly virus spread.
The former Deputy Chief Minister informed that the BJP workers and activists throughout the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir have already fanned out in all directions in their respective areas to spread awareness about the need to take appropriate measures for overcoming the challenge posed by the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic. “However, I appeal to the people at large to voluntarily become proactive partners in this life saving battle as it cannot be won without their support,” he said.
Among others who were present in the meeting included Parmod Kapahi, Jai Deep Sharma, Surjit Chowdhary, Sanjay Baru, Rajinder Sharma and Baldev Singh Baloria.
