Notorious drug peddler held

SRINAGAR, Apr 28: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police today said to have arrested a notorious drug peddler in Budgam and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
Officers from Police Station Chadoora at a checkpoint established at Gopalpora Chadoora signalled a suspicious person to stop. However, he tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully by the alert party.
“He has been identified as Arif Ahmed Rah son of Ali Mohammad Rah resident of Umer Colony Bemina Srinagar. During checking, officers were able to recover 35 grams of charas & 120 capsules of Spasmoproxyvon from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station Chadoora where he remains in custody,” police said.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 49/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Chadoora and investigation has been taken up.
